My name is Elena and I am a fine artist and designer currently located in Seattle, Washington.

After moving to the Pacific Northwest from Illinois, I fell in love with the beautiful outdoors here: my work has been inspired by my exploration of natural spaces and the peace I have found within them. I work primarily in watercolor paint, graphite, charcoal, and continue to explore other methods of making with a focus on sustainable and natural sourcing. A professor of mine once spoke of the importance of choosing the right medium for your subject, rather than binding your subject to a medium: this has become a pillar in my artistic practice.

My creative roots began in a photographic darkroom, shooting SLR and developing my own film and photographic prints using various techniques. Analog photography is an avenue of art that I hold very near and dear to my heart- documenting beautiful places in such a sentimental way.

The process of creating is deeply emotional to me: art has been instrumental to my healing. I aim to create work depicting environmental and ecological subjects with underlying emotional themes surrounding grief and peace.
